I AM WRITING writing in response to the letter 'Give Aussie Rules the boot', regarding Mrs Doye's allegations about junior footy in the Avon region.
Currently there are about 500 kids registered for the upcoming season, put together by Peter (York), Greg (Toodyay) and Ian (Northam).
These men are club presidents and with their voluntary committee are doing a great job, making sure every child is playing footy where possible.
I have been involved in junior footy for the past eight years, as well as being at Jubilee Oval six days a week during the season.
I have never met Mrs Doye or heard her down there, so are confused about the issues she has considering the season hasn't even started yet.
To any parents that has an problems with junior footy in the Avon please don't hesitate to ring me any time.
I would like to thank the parents that already volunteer the time on a weekly basis.
Maybe Mrs Doye can be Northam's new goal umpire, runner or water bottle filler, doing something instead of complaining over the past 30 years - or maybe she can ring personally if she has any more problems in the future.
