LAST Friday afternoon, two Skateboarding Australia coaches visited Northam Skate Park to run free National Youth Week Skate Clinics and games.
Keegan Walker and Joe Bothams put a solid gathering of skaters through a variety of skateboarding drills.
"Our sessions cater to everyone," Mr Walker said.
"We like people to learn the basics, making sure people can stand, balance and feel comfortable on a skateboard."
Mr Bothams said their sessions generally receive good responses.
"I love skateboarding because it is a way to express yourself and keep fit," Mr Bothams said.
"It's also a very social activity, as we see with today's turnout."
During the session, the more experienced skateboarders were pitted head to head in contests.
Helmets and skateboards were were available for participants to use free of charge.
The session was made possible by Skateboarding Australia, World Industries, the Shire of Northam and the Department of Sport and Recreation.
