STEVEN Pollard was re-elected Northam shire president at last Wednesday night's special council meeting.
He was elected unopposed with no other nominations.
"It is a sign council has faith in my abilities," Cr Pollard said.
He said he would drive forward to make things happen over the next two years.
A deputy president was also elected at the meeting, for which Terry Little and Denis Beresford put their names forward.
Cr Little won the secret ballot 8-2.
Starting from a clockwise position, councillors were then given new seating arrangements in the council chambers. At the commencement of the meeting all elected candidates were sworn in after reading aloud a declaration.
The Shire of York unanimously elected a new shire president and deputy president at a special Monday morning meeting last week. Matthew Reid is the new president with Mark Duperouzel deputy president.
David Dow was elected shire president of Toodyay with Bethan Lloyd deputy president.
