WITH school starting this week regular players were back on the tennis court after the summer holiday break and in preparation for the commencement of the second round of the pennant competition next Saturday.
The casserole tea was a great success after social tennis last Sunday while watching the Australian Open men’s tennis final on the big screen in the Springfield Lounge.
It was difficult to take side as both Roger Federer and Andy Murray demonstrated some great tennis skills.
Many in the crowd thought they could do better.
The East Avon Tennis Association pennants starts on Saturday, February 6 at the regular 1:30pm start. Northam A grade plays York A grade at York. Northam B grade plays Cunderdin B grade at the Cunderdin courts. Good luck to players.
The annual Northam Mixed Doubles Open will be held on Sunday, February 7, jointly sponsored by Mayberry Hammond, Shire of Northam and Landmark.
Club members are urged to participate on this day and invite players outside the club.
