Strong turnout for long weekend

04 Mar, 2010 09:41 AM
GOOD numbers turned up at the Northam Lawn Tennis Club over the Labour Day long weekend.

It is great to see that the courts have greatly improved over the last couple of weeks with the grass struggling against the harsh, long, burning-hot summer.

Once again thanks to the volunteer hands of Alan Smith, Rob Jamieson and Kevin Smith.

The men’s and ladies’ doubles championships club event will be held next Sunday, March 7 starting at 1pm. Northam Lawn Tennis Club members are asked to support this annual event sponsored by Randle Beavis of Specialised Tree Service.

Entries must be in by Friday, March 5 to club captain Dennis Saunders on 9622 3494.

The Northam Lawn Tennis Club annual general meeting will follow in the Springfield Lounge.

Members should attend to have input into the ongoing running of the club and election of office bearers.

For more information call Tim Powell on 9623 2294.
