Cooler conditions for tennis pennants

COOLER conditions were enjoyed by tennis players over the weekend at the Northam Lawn Tennis Club with pennants played on Saturday and social tennis on Sunday.

On home turf, Northam A-grade pennant team played against Quairading with a close competition and final score of 15 sets all.

However, Quairading won 131 games and Northam 126 games, a narrow loss of five games.

Both Northam pennant sides will take a break next weekend.

A reminder to tennis club members that the men’s and ladies’ doubles club championship event will be held on Sunday, March 7.

All entries are to be placed on the board.

Good luck to all the midweek players who are playing at Meckering ladies’ open today.

Sundays are social tennis at 1.30pm and all are welcome.

Midweek social tennis is on Wednesdays at 9am.

Junior coaching is on Mondays 3:30pm to 6.30pm.

Junior club continues on Fridays from 4pm, contact Heather Abel on 9622 2028.
