Bulls victorious again at Jubilee

FOR the second week in a row the Quairading Bulls have travelled to Jubilee Oval beating both Northam teams.

On Sunday they took on the Federals who are struggling with form this year sitting sixth on the ladder beating them by 29 points 13.9.87 to 8.10 58.

It was a hard-fought reserves match that led to the big game with the Feddies coming out on top 11.5 71 to 7.15 57.

In the big game Feddies were first on the scoreboard with an early goal from ruck man Jarrod Lawrence.

After a crucial mistake in the Feddies backline the Bulls kicked their first goal.

The Bulls controlled the rest of the term kicking another three goals to go into the first break with a handy three-goal lead 4.4 to 1.0.

In the second quarter the Bulls came out hard and put two more goals on the scoreboard.

Feddies fought hard to work their way back into the game kicking two goals.

It was a low-scoring quarter and the Bulls went into the long break with a handy 28-point lead 7.6 to 3.3.

The third term was hard fought all over the ground and both teams had trouble penetrating the forward 50.

Feddies stood strong in defence making scoring opportunities difficult for the Bulls.

The Bulls added three goals to their score and went into the last term with a six-goal lead 9.7 to 3.5.

In the last term Feddies worked hard to to get back into the game.

They worked hard around the ground and it paid off with their outscoring the Bulls in the term.

Feddies ran away with the game but the run came too late and they were unable to topple the Bulls. The Bulls came back at the end of the game to extend their full-time score.

Liam Cassidy was impressive for the Bulls along with Daniel Chambers and Michael Johnston.

Michael Pratt, Matthew Smith and Glen Smith were effective around the ground for the Feddies supported by experienced players Michael Bullen and Wade Hunter.

Both teams look to next week when all games are played on Saturday, July 4.

Feddies take on cross-town rivals the Railways for a derby showdown, Beverley host ladder leaders Keller/Tammin, Cunderdin travel to York and Quairading have the bye.
