NORTHAM Harness Racing Club and the Greyhound Club held their annual combined meeting last Sunday with a big crowd on course to witness some great racing with Bob Ayling from Quairading winning a race with his greyhound Carado Jerricho.
Toms Gold, brilliantly driven by Kyle Harper, led and won the Northam Carpets- sponsored race by 3 metres from Mathyou trained by Colin Viger from Wundowie.
The annual bike rider, runner, horse and greyhound challenge was keenly watched and supported by all the crowd with champion runner Toby Fillingham winning the event from Jack Foley on his BMX bike, with the greyhound and horse finishing very close up in third and fourth place.
Ainsley Swankie drove a very smart race on Calcutta Money at the Kalgoorlie meeting on Friday night to quickly go around and face the breeze and pressure the favourite Head Hunter.
The horse went on to win by 2 metres.
The consistent Calcutta Money is trained by Jeff Bull of York.
Statie Sun has been running some good races for York trainer Amanda Pennd.
The next harness meeting will be held on October 27, also good luck to the Northam Race Club which holds its $100,000 Gold Cup this Sunday.
