THE Northam and Districts Little Athletics club sent a
strong contingent of 30 athletes to the annual Country
Championships held over two days in Kalgoorlie on
November 28 and 29.
It was a fantastic opportunity for athletes across
country centres in Western Australia to showcase their
talents.
The Northam athletes performed strongly across all
the athletic disciplines and despite the hot trying conditions they brought home an amazing 90 medals and
over 120 personal bests.
Toby Fillingham displayed his dominance in the triple jump setting a new record with a jump of 12.85 metres and also broke the record for the 200 metre hurdles with a time of 27.46 seconds.
Every athlete performed to the best of their ability
over the weekend and were all a credit to themselves
and the club in the way they conducted themselves
both on and off the track and field.

endeavour they put in preparing for the championships
and their performances and efforts over the weekend.
