THE coroner has advised that 16-year-old Northam schoolboy Andrew Allan who died overnight on Thursday, September 16 after being sent home from Northam Hospital was suffering from swine flu and a bacterial infection.

His mother had taken him to the hospital that afternoon with symptons of breathing difficulty, vomiting and unsteadiness.

He was not assessed by a doctor but was given paracetamol and a pamphlet on gastroenteritis.

Director of health Kim Snowball advised that people should still seek vaccination against the disease.
