THIS year the Avon Valley is well represented at the Western Australian Tourism Awards with four local businesses and events finalists in their category.

Two-time winner Windward Balloon Adventures is again in the running in the adventure tourism category.

Black Wattle Retreat in Toodyay is a finalist in the hosted accommodation, Kookaburra Dream Travellers Overnighter in York is a finalist in the backpackers accommodation category and the York Jazz and Soul Festival is a finalist in the category Major Events and Events.

This is the first year the Jazz and Soul Festival has been a finalist.

It is deserving of the committees hard work to bring well-known acts to the Avon Valley.

The Western Australian Tourism Awards, now in their 37th year, recognise excellence within the WA Tourism Industry.

The Awards are universally regarded as the industry’s most prestigious awards program, showcasing the best that tourism the State has to offer, and recognised as the tourism industry’s major annual event.

They attract widespread media coverage and enthusiastic industry-wide support.
