THE Shire of Northam has appointed a new community development officer to replace Rebecca House.
Gloria Ingram started work on Monday, looking forward to the challenges.
Her background is in multicultural community development.
She worked for the Commonwealth Government in Perth in the area of people with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds with responsibility for the State.
The Commonwealth also used her to work on the settlement of migrants.
Gloria has also done project work among Nyoongar communities.
She has Bachelor of Arts and Master of Social Science degrees from Edith Cowan University and a Bachelor of Tourism degree from Murdoch University.
Gloria has lived at Clackline for two and a half years and is a member of the Clackline/Muresk Volunteer Fire Brigade and Avon Valley Arts.
“I am keen to engage with the community,” Gloria said.
