Avon’s new tourism book is now available

18 Feb, 2010 09:57 AM
AVON Tourism’s new booklet Experience the Avon Valley is just hitting the streets.

A total of 20,000 copies were printed at a cost of $23,000.

The voluntary group hopes to publish the booklet annually.

“It is partly funded by local government with strong support from Experience Perth and Tourism WA.

“We still raised half the cost of the booklet from advertising,” Avon Tourism committee member Wendy Williams from Goomalling said.

“The response to the booklet so far has been more than encouraging.

“It was on display at the recent Holiday and Travel Expo in Adelaide and walked out the door.

“And we will be using it at the Perth Holiday and Travel Expo at Burswood on February 20 and 21.”

The full-colour 32-page booklet is an excellent production highlighting tourism attractions at Beverley, Brookton, Goomalling, Northam, Toodyay, York and New Norcia.
